Date(s) - Thursday 10th March
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The Storey Institute (Music Room)
Reading the Internet is an exorcism and a celebration of all the writing that’s published online. It’s a performance of private and public conversations, of dialogue whispered through a keyboard and broadcast to the world. It turns the written word into live art, transforms Facebook feeds into music, and breaks down that political essay you kept meaning to read into a brief flash of poetry.
Hosted by Something Other – writers Mary Paterson and Maddy Costa – Reading the Internet invites theatre-makers, live artists, writers, critics, and anyone who reads and looks at stuff online, to participate in a night that mixes spoken word, sound art, performance, experimental writing and more. For each event, Mary and Maddy curate a handful of readers/performers, but also leave space for people to join in on the night.
About the curators
Mary Paterson and Maddy Costa are writers who work in relation to performance. In 2014 they started working together on Something Other, a research project that explores the digital, the live and the writerly through commissions, events, and a website.
